Wings - Smoked or Buffalo Traditional

Bonfire Craft Kitchen & Tap House recently started posting about a possible sister location in Tempe... I've had my eye on them since the announcement, because quite a few of you Syndicate Supporters have recommended their Surprise location in the past. Well, sometimes you get what you want, and it's what I didn't know I needed... Bonfire Craft Kitchen & Tap House -- TEMPE is located at 1617 W Warner Rd, in TEMPE, AZ Did I mention this location is in TEMPE? Just reiterating for those of you in the back, the rest of you trust me, this is for the best. Here's the score sheet: Sauce / Rub AVG: 8 Mango Habanero: By know you know my stance on Mango Hab, everyone does it, but those who do it exceptionally well deserve the nod. I would almost guarantee this is a puree, the citrus and sweet melon flavor of the mango are too fresh for it to be some lab-made syrup. In true fruit / spice fashion the Hab dissects the tropical notes and tortures it (deservedly so) over an open fire, deep within a hidden produce jungle in the back aisle of a forgotten farmer's market. 8 Buffalo Medium: Classic buffalo, butter, vinegar, possibly a drizzle of the unpronounceable and often vexing Worcestershire, plays well with others including the SPG / cayenne. They do offer a range of heat additives to any of their sauces by the way, Mild -- Hot. 7.5 Arizona Gold: I'm a mustard slut, but you already know this, for me this sauce is a tamed down version of a Carolina Mustard that I've had many times, but maybe that's the Arizona portion of the name? I prefer a few more tablespoons of yellow mustard in my own iteration, but by no means is this sub-par, just a little sweeter than what I like. 7.5 BBQ: Solid, savory, smoky, sweet, brown sugar, vinegar, molasses or black treacle, great acid bite to tie everything together. 7.5 Smoked: Listen (or in this case, read) I don't often do just a naked wing, for the purpose of sauce testing, yes, but to sit down and just order smoked wings? Madness! Well, color me with the appropriate shade of crayon (plaid, perhaps?) because I demolished an entire 10 plate of fully naked, smoked, no dipping sauce, delicious bastards... and I went back the next day for more! So yeah, my 2-day wing count was like 30-ish, I honestly didn't even know "chicken sweats" were a thing. 9.5 Consistency: 9.5 I can't give anything a 10, because, you know... if something's a 10, there's nothing better in the universe, and I don't roll that way. BUT IF I DID give tens... these deserve both digits. Plump, juicy, umami, your mami, his mami, all the mamis... eat 30 of 'em, I did. Meat Flavor: 9.5 See above for why this isn't a 10, rolled in spices, slow cooked or smoked, flash fried to perfection. Even the non-smoked (see: regular) have a transcendent quality to them, these ARE CHICKEN WINGS, ladies and gentlemen. Presentation: 5 Eh. Can't fault 'em for this one, maybe they'll get a little fancier in the coming weeks, for now average. Accoutrement: 6.5 Veg was super fresh, standard dressings, Wet Naps + but remember to ask. Heat: MH -- 4, BM -- 3, AG -- 2, BBQ -- 0, Smoked -- 0. Syndicate Score: 38.5 / 50 (excludes heat) Recommendation: These people know BBQ, and it definitely shows, if they're this spectacular during the first few weeks of being open, I can only be highly optimistic for their continued success. Watch out Tempe/ Tukee... player 2 has entered the game. Note: A few of the pictures have a red tinge to them, that was from the second visit and during a big-assed Justin Habieber. Chicken Tenders

Wow! This place is awesome! The food was incredible, the atmosphere was incredible, and the wait staff are so cool! 12/10 would recommend.

Baby Back Ribs

Went for my birthday and some guys were walking out and said try the Ribs. So i did that and Brisket Poutine for appetizer. The food was amazing and didn't disappoint and I really looked forward to eating my leftovers. A+ cuisine!

Brisket Poutine

From a brisket and poutine snob, this was one of the best I've ever had!! The brisket was tender and flavorful....the cheese ooey and gooey...and the fries were crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. I've had quite a few things at Bonfire and they've all been great! And the cider was outstanding too!!!

Brisket Poutine

Came in after work one day and ordered the Brisket Poutine. It was so good! The staff was super friendly and personable as well. Will definitely be back!!

Peach Cobbler Nachos

The peach cobbler nachos were so good, and I'm not even a peach fan! They were super crispy, very sweet, but the crunch is what makes them. For sure a "must try" ?

Monsoon "House Specialty"

Was recommended by the manager to try, it was their top seller. Was hesitant, but we tried. O. M. G. Now we are hooked. A very creative pizza and we were hooked from first bite. Now we crave and get a lot! Bon Fire has been a hidden gem we found a few years ago and we absolutely love. Everything on their menu has been top notch!

Ole Smokey

This pizza was amazing! Everything was so flavorful and just the right amount of it all. I can't wait to eat the rest of my leftovers! We also ordered the peach cobbler nachos and those were delicious. Our server was amazing and she was so attentive!! Love this place and definitely going back!!
